Q1. How did your career journey start? Or Who/What inspired you to start this business/entrepreneurship?

My career journey started at a somewhat turbulent time in my life, I had just left a profession of more than 7 years, in banking, and I knew I needed to do something, from somewhere I had to start over. I tried a couple of businesses, such as rental of material for events, clothing sales, among others and I was never close to finding myself. I was not happy and I believe, now,  that this made these projects not go forward.

In the midst of tests, yes tests, of what to do to survive I thought “how about baking cakes?”, out of nowhere I started baking at home and trying to decorate, they were ugly and maybe they were actually good as the closest people would say, but I fell in love with what I was doing. For the first time I found myself doing something that I really liked, something that caused me to lose sleep because of anxiety. I wanted to wake up to bake or decorate a cake!

In agreement with my husband, who became very excited with my enthusiasm and my dedication, we decided to invest in the business, invest in knowledge. That's when an angel appeared in the form of a teacher to teach me the little important things. I went looking for knowledge in another part of the world, I crossed the ocean, in search of courses, techniques that would allow me to do something different from what existed in the market. It was one of the best experiences I had in my life. They were intense days of learning, exchange of experiences and many discoveries both professional and individual, putting faith that all of that that would change my life!

The support, at this was, still is and will always be fundamental, my husband who is a born entrepreneur, my daughters, my parents, my siblings and my 3 close friends are the people who push me forward from day one.

Q2. Kindly share some information about your Business, products and services here.

Sabor No Ponto is a newly created company (September 2019) that is currently dedicated to confectionery, more specifically cakes, for all occasions. We have innovated in ways that, we can offer a surprise box gifts that contains mini cakes inside, always maintaining our focus, the sweets, which is to captivate others by melting their palates.

Q3. What kind of challenges did you face while starting/doing business?

I would say that, in this area, each day is a challenge and each cake is a challenge, I have to be in constant learning and evolving state, every day new techniques and fashions emerge. However, at the beginning of my career, my biggest challenge was to stand out among the many talented and monsters in the confectionery that surround me.

Q4. Do share with our readers about your discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business?

I had difficult moments, difficulties baking, fear, fear that people would not like it or that it would not be as they imagined. Some cakes were ordered and I would think that this is going to be a torture. I lacked security in myself. I would deliver a cake and be afraid of the feedback I would get, but I always had support from those around me. It was essential to get through this phase and I insisted, persisted, with each positive feedback I gained more strength, more grit to continue in this project. To promote, I baked cakes and gave them for free and thank God the feedback was always good.

Q5. Share with our readers about your experiment period after the discovery period?

I still do not consider myself an experienced person in this area, we have less than 1 year in business and still need to learn a lot to consider myself experienced, but from the little I have lived and what I am living in this job, I have to share that the best we can do in life, it is something we like, it is something that is our passion, whatever it is, if it is done with love, with passion it will always work out, take whatever time - Patience is essential

Q6. What are you future plans? Or now what is your vision for next five years?

My vision for the next 5 years, or a little furthermore, is to be a great Chef, Owner of a complete catering services company, in all Culinary areas, including a school so that I could teach and share my passion.

Q7. How would you advice/suggest new entrepreneurs who want to start & sustain in business?

For everyone who want to start a business or enter the life of entrepreneurship, my advice is to start now, start today, and start with what you have. To get far we must start from somewhere, and where we are is the best place to start. Challenges, difficulties will always exist, at the beginning, during and at the peak of the journey. We will learn every day to get around these situations and move forward, for our dreams, for our independence. Remember that always "The secret to progress and success is START”
