Q1. How did your career journey start? Or Who/What inspired you to start this business/ entrepreneurship?

I was always that kid who saw her mother make amazing stuff and was always inquisitive to know "the how" of that entire cooking process!

I have always loved baking, and while I did it for my friends and family, they kept insisting me to teach them too. Once I started joining baking groups and posted what I made, the response was amazing. That's when I considered teaching the art of baking!

As they say, few are lucky to turn their passion into their profession, well, I consider myself luckier to have found that as a part of a complete different phase of my life, at the age of 53.

Q2. Kindly share some information about your Business, products and services here.

Breads, Cakes n More started more than 5 years ago. We are into baking, selling and teaching. Our product range includes breads, cakes, cookies, dessert jars, brownies and more! They are freshly baked from scratch and are pre-mix and preservative free.

We specialize in Customized Theme Cakes that bring memories/likes/hobbies/preferences to life. Few of our prized creations in cakes are in the theme of A Samosa, Nachos, Tacos, Photo Reel, Biryani Pot, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones & Superheros to name a few!

I added 'More' to my brand name because I do not want to restrict myself from learning and offering more and more!

Q3. What kind of challenges did you face while starting/doing business?

I have been cooking and baking for my loved ones since ages. That was my strength. As great it is to know your strengths, it's smarter to know your weaknesses! I knew mine was not being as technologically sound as I wanted to be! I got help from my family and now when I see myself, I am proud of how I have changed from being technologically dependent to being tech savvy. And that, I guess is an achievement for me. I strive to learn new things each day and that's what gives me the confidence.

Q4. Do share with our readers about your discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business?

Yes, most definitely. Freelancing is not at all easy! There are times you fail to promote your products like you would like to, but you must know how to pick yourself up. As and when generations change, there are different and new ways of promoting your product. You may need time to get used to it.

Get help from your children. Nobody understands their generation like they themselves!

Q5. Share with our readers about your experiment period after the discovery period?

Baking is not a one time learning job. You have to learn, try, fail, retry and try and try till you nail the recipe your own way and that's your achievement. I have always tried to be a perfectionist and so, I have always strived to make my products perfect and only then, bring it to the market. Since I always bake for my family and friends, I can try on new and different recipes and themes and then, add it to my menu. Initially I had to try the same things a number of times only to crack the perfect end product and trust me, its so fulfilling.

All it requires is a lot of determination, and well, a family that's ever ready to taste all that you try. An ever encouraging family is very important in any kind of a success.

Q6. What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for next five years?

I would never want to stop learning. I like to challenge myself with whatever comes my way. A learning curve is always essential to growth, it always makes you more and more effective. I see myself having tried a lot of new stuff and having made my way to perfect each recipe I experiment or create.

Q7. How would you advice/suggest new entrepreneurs who want to start & sustain in business?

You can learn new things ANYTIME in your life. Never restrict yourself because of age since it's just a number. I started my business at 53 years of age & I am still learning, experimenting & delivering memories to my clients.

This goes to show that if you are willing to start, trust me, the whole world will open up for you.
