Q1. How did your career journey start? Or Who/What inspired you to start this business/ entrepreneurship?
I was as young as 10 years when I had the entrepreneurial zeal in me.
The first venture, I started right after my grade 10, was from my home after getting professionally trained in salon services. My inspiration is my father from whom I learned what does it need to plan, execute and Market any business
Secondly the most important is my 8.5 years old daughter, who appreciates my work always and her being proud of her motivates me.
Q2. Kindly share some information about your Business, products and services here.
I initiated the Maa2Mom community to connect, communicate and to celebrate everything that meant being a mother it has reached out to over 50,000 mothers worldwide and has impacted thousands of lives since inception.
Mental health is a subject very close to my heart as I have faced it multiple times. Apart from regular online and offline activities, Maa2Mom has also continued to engage society at large via cultural, Rewards & recognition. Maa2Mom is also associated with the underprivileged – a case in which it is not possible to reach online.
Q3. What kind of challenges did you face while starting/doing business?
When I began, it was so difficult to make anyone understand what exactly I'm trying to do. The most challenging thing for any Social Entrepreneur is to sustain a Self Motivating Team, especially working on digital media and networking is daunting as it takes all your time till now people still ask me what I do and why I do?
Q4. Do share with our readers about your discovery period when you were facing difficulties in your business?
It's been a roller coaster ride - learning, falling and making new strategies is what has helped me during those days till now. Whenever there was a difficult situation, I always chose to communicate with my team and our community members. That gave me the right direction always. Today also if I'm stuck I discuss before concluding!
Q6. What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for next five years?
We have a plan to be the most meaningful community which any mom would aspire for.
There are many women looking for opportunities but still don't find the right ones. We can help them build some real work from home opportunities.
There are lot of social and environmental goals we have to make a difference the society at large!
Q7. How would you advise/suggest new entrepreneurs who want to start & sustain in business?
First is to identify what they want to start and why? What is the differentiating factor from the existing stuff in the similar field is very crucial. What are the commercials involved and if the plan A Doesn't work do they have a Financial backup is very important, as many give up early. Entrepreneurship is no mean task giving up seems to be easiest so most important is keep working with set vision and build a trustworthy team. My Mantra is that the world is very dynamic and one should keep changing strategies!
