Q1. How did your career journey start? Or Who/What inspired you to
start this business/ entrepreneurship?
Actually I became an Image Consultant quite by chance. I am a qualified fashion designer and I successfully managed my own boutique for seven years. At the same time, I was freelancing as a make up and product trainer for one Multinational company. I got a call from a start up company who wanted me on board as a grooming and styling expert. So I started conducting workshops in multinational companies on grooming and business dressing. I believe in constantly upgrading my skills and so while reading up on something, I came across a term I had never heard of -"Image Consultant". I was impressed and very interested in pursuing Image consultancy as my career and hence, I did a course from the US, got certified as an Image Consultant and began my journey as an Image Consultant.

Q3. What kind of challenges did you face while starting/doing business?
When I launched my brand Orchid Complete Makeovers in 2007 , very few people knew what an Image Consultant was. So I had to introduce myself as a personality development trainer. It was difficult to convince people about the importance of looking good and dressing professionally. People were not ready to invest in themselves.

Q5. Share with our readers about your experiment period after the discovery period?
I experimented with mentoring and coaching and introduced new programs like dating etiquette for prospective brides and grooms, creating a pocket friendly wardrobe, travel etiquette that were the need of the hour.
Q6. What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for next five years?
After having travelled extensively, I have realised that we Indians lack in basic etiquette because of our "chalta hai" attitude, we still do not believe that clothing has an impact on our own mindset and behaviour and there is a need to change that. My vision is to #groomindia and I'm mobilising all my resources towards that end. My dream is to start my image makeover academy with branches all over India and I will be launching it soon.
Q7. How would you advice/suggest new entrepreneurs who want to start & sustain in business?
